Description

This is a basic 1-day course that covers the very basics of fire awareness and prevention, as well as the basics of fire control in the home/workplace.

Topics covered:
The basic theory of fire
Methods of extinguishment
Practical use of fire extinguishers and hose reels

Audience

Employees expected to use extinguishers and hose reels in the workplace under normal and emergency circumstances. Suitable annual continuation or refresher training for persons who have attended the Fire-fighting & Evacuation Module

Course Completion

A certificate is issued to the student which is valid for a period of at least one year

Course Duration: 1 day

    Course Certification:

    An AIEM certificate of completion will be issued upon successful completion of the course, a written and practical assessment are required in order for this certificate to be issued.

    SAQA accredited content for the US 119567 or for an advanced level: US 376480 is used, however SAQA accreditation is only applied if there is a requirement for this, and should be discussed on a course by course basis (this includes additional content and more notional hours as well as development of a portfolio of evidence).

    Course Duration: 5 Days (3 day theory and 2 day practical in a wilderness setting)

    WFA manual is provided in an e-book format for the course
