The PEP (Professional Ethical Practice programme is a 6-hour workshop designed to meet the needs of the emergency care provider (paramedic, doctors and nurses) with regard to ethical practice in the emergency setting.
The course is designed to stimulate discussion and shared experience through interaction with a number of role-played scenarios and case-based interactions.
Aims of the course:
To provide clinicians with a practical approach to the assessment and management of difficult ethical situations and decisions within the emergency medical sphere.
To enable practitioners to apply the 4 pillars of medical ethics to situations and to engage with others in a meaningful way for best ethical practice
2 hours online theory component getting student to engage in a prepared interaction focusing on one of the ethical principles presented in the contact session
6-hour practical day (simulation and case-based learning and interaction)
Post graduate, registered, medical professionals who are expected to provide care in the emergency medical setting
Case-based learning and discussion-based learning
Course Completion Card or Certificate
Students who successfully complete the NERS Course will receive an AIEM Certificate of Completion and CPD certificate.
