Thank you for considering the Scholar First Aid programme as an extramural for your child. We look forward to sharing our passion for emergency first aid with your child in an age-appropriate immersive course aimed at fostering a passion for helping others and learning about First Aid.

The aim of the course is not to have your child perform first aid alone or as the only responder, rather sensitise them to the safety aspects of first aid, empower them to make the call for help and kick start the chain of survival in the case of an emergency.

We intend to empower your child with knowledge (appropriate to their age), skill (appropriate to the expectation of a school child) and, more importantly, a sense of empowerment in situations that often leave even adults feeling helpless.

AIEM have put together a program called the Scholar First Aid programme – it is set to run each term for 8 weeks. The students will receive a manual and an empty first aid kit at the start of the programme and will work through various topics in the 40-minute sessions each week. Each week builds on the last, and the children will be engaged through interactive lessons, practical application of the knowledge they have learned, and will go home each week with a new supply to fill their first aid kit.

Topics to be covered:

  1. Safety Awareness and Seizures
  2. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Unconsciousness & Choking
  3. Wounds and Bleeding, and Bandaging
  4. Fractures & Sprains, and Splinting
  5. Head & Spinal Injuries
  6. Burns & Heatstroke
  7. Asthma & Allergies, Chest Pain and Stroke

Please complete the information below to better enable us to group your child into a class of their peers for the sessions.
Times and dates of the sessions will be communicated in January 2022.
